Welcome to CryptoArt Sundays everyone! This week I am just over the top excited to finally be featuring an artist that I have been following for a long time now and that is at the top of my list, and that is also, like me, from South Africa. Say hello to the super talented Lethabo Huma.
The main theme of her art is centered around her emotional responses, thoughts and experiences as a young African woman. She has made a name for herself in the CryptoArt scene, and has been featured in major publications as well as in several global and renowned shows such as Christieâs â Proof of Sovereignty: A Curated NFT Sale by Lady PheOnix and Sothebyâs â Natively Digital: A Curated NFT Sale.

How did you find out about the NFT space, and what attracted you to create your own NFTs?
I found out about the space from a friend at Bloomberg Crypto, we met in university studying computer science. When he called me to tell me about NFTs, I was keen to learn more about them because I had some knowledge of the blockchain.
How often do you create?
It usually depends on how much time I have but I try to create something on a daily basis, even if itâs something basic or small like one shape.
What is your creative process?
I use a software called ProCreate to draw. I do not have a set process, however, I have two different processes that I usually follow. When I already have a general idea of the piece, the next step is to find references and/or inspiration that will work with the idea I have. Sometimes I stumble on an image that triggers an idea or concept I have been thinking of for a while and then I mainly work with that and other references.
Are there any CryptoArtists you would love to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Micah Johnson, Nyla and Fewocious!
What do you think the future of CryptoArt will look like?
From an art point of view, I believe that there will be artists in the space who use different mediums to create like filmmakers, poets, musicians and dancers etc.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my second release for my BLOOM Series on SuperRare.
